Softwave therapy with the OrthoGold 100 is an exciting, breakthrough treatment option in the field of regenerative medicine. The Orthogold 100 delivers the most effective Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (“ESWT”) available. What is The Stem Cell Machine?
It is a new, highly effective treatment whereby high-energy sound waves are applied to injured, degenerated and/or painful areas of the body to dramatically reduce pain and increase mobility and function. How are Treatments Performed?

How Many Treatments Are Needed?
The number of treatments needed depends on the condition that is being treated. General pain relief is usually attained in 4 to 6 treatments, however, to achieve the best stem cell stimulation, 8 treatments are recommended. Each treatment session takes between 10-15 minutes.
What Types of Results Are Expected?

What are the Possible Side Effects?

We have however seen that if corticosteroids have been injected into the area, especially within the past few months, there can be an increase in inflammatory pain rather than a decrease. Each patient seems to respond differently. Some have no adverse effects, but we've seen that if there have been multiple shots, especially to the spine, the therapy tends to cause the area to become painful for several days following treatment. This has been the most significant side effect seen in our office so far. As such, we do a thorough history to help avoid any unnecessary discomfort.

Pricing is based on how many softwaves are needed in a particular area and by condition. In general, smaller joints require fewer softwaves. Wrists, hands, ankles and feet tend to respond well to 300 softwaves per treatment whereas larger joints suchas the knee, shoulders and hips may need 400 to 500 per session. Average treatment ranges from $72-$240 per session.
